Malikijarra Jukurrpa Canvas Art Print - Using vibrant colours, playful shapes and hundreds of meticulously placed lines and layers, this breathtaking Aboriginal artwork tells the sacred story of the two dogs Dreaming. The colour palette is a kaleidoscope of pin, red, orange, blue and purple. This Aboriginal artwork tells the story of the two dogs Dreaming. The site for this Dreaming makes up a part of a long Dreaming track stretching from one end of the Warlpiri country to the other, and sits adjacent to the windmill at Rabbit Flat in the Northern Territory. This Dreaming is very important to its owners, as it tells the story of proper conduct in families and marriages. This Dreaming tells the story of two dog ancestors, a male, Jampinjinpa, and a female, Napangardi, who were travelling across the Warlpiri country from the west to the east. Beginning their journey at Yarrajalpa, a waterhole, they travelled through country, digging holes in the ground and creating 'warnirri' (rockholes) and 'ngapa' (waterholes) as they went. The two dogs separated at Tapu, with the female dog, Napangardi, heading south, and the male dog, Jampijinpa, heading north. Eventually Jampijinpa became lonely, and howled for Napangardi in the south. She came running to him, and they married each other at Ngarnka. They wore men's and women's marriage headdresses, and Jampijinpa painted himself with white clay for the ceremony. After they were married, they continued their journey together, moving slowly to the east, eventually reaching Warlaku (Ali Curung), where many other dogs were living. There were families - mothers, fathers, children and uncles all living together. Jampijinpa and Napangardi made a burrow for themselves to rest in, and started their own big family of dogs, choosing to stay and live amongst the other families in Warlaku. Bring the richness of Aboriginal culture and timeless storytelling traditions into your home with this intricately painted and breathtaking artwork. STRETCHED CANVAS

SHADOW BOX FRAMES
The canvas sits within the box frame with a 5mm gap, creating a sophisticated shadow effect between the frame and the canvas. The solid timber box frame mouldings are 10mm wide, and 55mm deep, and add approximately 40mm to the length and height of the listed canvas size.

Regarding size, we recommend to measure your space with a tape measure and lay down some sheets/masking tape to try and gain some perspective on the most suitable size rug for your area.

MEASUREMENTS

Measurements may vary by 2-3%. Returning a rug due to such size variance is classified as a change of mind return and our terms & conditions apply. Returning a rug outside of our 30 day returns window due to incorrect size is not possible.

PATTERN

Photography is provided of the small area size rug (e.g. 230 x 160 cm) & runner (e.g. 80 x 300 cm). A larger size rug may accentuate a rug's pattern.

A transitional rug can have a faded & distressing look applied, which is often not symmetrical in pattern & colour, as this is part of their unique design. This can be accentuated in larger sizes.

Returns due to an accentuated pattern are classified as a change of mind return. A change of mind return is only valid within 30 days receipt of your shipment.
